So I went to the shops and grabbed some different types of balls to go in my ball pit - being a plastic container box. How does it work? Students use the recording sheet alongside the box and can play either by themselves or with a buddy. They take turns picking out a ball, saying the word that is on it and then writing it down on the recording sheet. Students would leave that ball they picked out of the box so students can pick it again. Another way they could play is with the buddy, once they have picked out the balls to swap recording sheets. Students could then ask each other how to spell a word that was picked out! Lots of great fun using this resource and I can't wait to get this going in word work time! ![]()

Sound it out to Space This activity is a great alternative to phoneme box sounding out. It is fun, engaging and hands on with kiddies being able to map out each sound before blending them together. With a space theme, this has phoneme stars with a space background and uses a spaceship/rocket as the moving piece. How does it work? Kiddies use the phoneme star mat and spaceship. Kiddies use words they have provided by their teacher, and move the spaceship each phoneme star whilst saying it out loud. Then once they get to the blend it star, they blend the sounds together to say the word. For reinforcement, kiddies can then write it down on the recording sheet. This resource includes 4 different variation mats for 3/4/5 phoneme words. This resource includes 21 pages. **It does not include words - teachers are able to use/provide the word lists that best match their kiddies learning and needs. Letter of the Week Pack

This is another template that I made on google drawings. I simply duplicate this each week and then add in or change what I need to. This gets completed each Sunday and shared with parents looking forward to the next week. This was really simple to create - but you can use my template link below to make a copy of and use in your own classroom too!
Happy grams!!! A quick and cute note for parents on how the day has gone. With so many things that go on during the day, it can be hard to make contact with parents to let them know about the amazing things their child might have done! Could be around attitude, perseverance, assessment or just a general awesome day!
