T3 Model of learning

There are many different models floating around that are suggested to be used in education. You should use this one because it develops student agency; use this one because it increases productivity; use this one because it will help with digital technologies. 
All models have both positives and negatives to it's use. You need to look at each model carefully to figure out if it is right for you, your students and your classroom. 

The T3 model is a model considered to be useful for teaching and learning with innovation in the classroom. It works through three phases or stages of educational technology use:
1. Translational
2. Transformational
3. Transcendent

The third stage is the ideal stage to be working at or creating learning outcomes. 

Translational Technology Use:

• ​Most common way that digital tools are used in schools
• Moving from analog into a digital form of learning outcome
• Automation >> teaching and learning tasks are automated
• Consumption >> teachers and students access and consume digital content

Transformational Technology Use:

• Enact significant changes to both learning tasks and students performing those tasks
• Reflects the intentional application of digital technologies to unleash students learning expertise
• Production >> producing digital representations of their knowledge in order to make thinking and learning pathways explicit
• Contribution >> scaffold students' use of digital tools to design, create, share and curate digital outcomes
• Student led learning

Transcendent Technology Use:

• Preparing students to master learning and digital creation
• "What wicked problem matters to you and what are you going to do about it?"
• Inquiry Design >> scaffolds students' uses of digital tools to identify, investigate, hypothesize and design resolutions to wicked problems that matter to them. 
• Social Entrepreneurship >> guides students to intentionally and contextually wield new and emerging software to the wicked problems
