Story publishing

We finished our narrative writing this week and students really wanted to publish them in a meaningful way. We have a WOW wall but my students wanted a way of being able to read each others stories.

So we created little story books with titles, front covers, their planning sheets and their final version of their stories. They put them in the library corner and then spent all reading doing 'read to self' or 'read to someone' so they could read each others!! It was so awesome. 

You could do this for any type of publishing - it really gives the work a purpose. Students are able to read others writing, see how their peers completed their work and just read for enjoyment.
So easy to create, we used:
-colour paper for our book covers
-free template for book cover off sparklebox
-narrative planning templates off teachers pay teachers
-typed up publishing on google docs
