Structured Literacy Progressions
Structured Literacy Progressions
These structured literacy progressions are a great place to start if you are delving into structured literacy and looking for some learning intentions, WALHTS or targets to work towards. These could be used in your lessons as learning targets, in modelling books, planning and more.
These are not linked to any programme, scope or sequence; and follow a three star system. To make sure these can be used by anyone following any sequence, the three stars can be interpreted and used as a progression - moving from one star to two, then three. These can be inserted into your own system like beginning/working towards/at or low/middle/high or any equivalent. The interpretation is up to you.
These progressions cover five key areas of structured literacy:
- phonemic awareness
- phonics
- fluency
- comprehension
- vocabulary
There is a one page coverage progression that has everything together in one. There is also a one page seperate progression for each key area.
There are 9 pages in this resource.
