Coding Giant Blocks
These coding blocks are a great way to get students interested, engaged and aware of key coding terminology. These are designed to be used as floor displays or activities that engage whole class, small groups or individuals.
Simply print off the coding blocks and laminate to ensure durability. Students will be able to stand on them and they will last the distance of your activities. I would recommend attaching these to the floor with velcro dots (if on carpet), or blue tack (if on lino or wood). That way the blocks won’t move around in your activity.
You should start with:
- A start block
- Variety of action blocks
- Joining blocks with the arrows to change direction
- End with a stop block
To add the concept of a ‘loop’, you can print off a loop block and place an instruction block on the inside. This will indicate how many times for the students to complete the action.
