These sound it out car mats are a great way to practice initial sounds and decodable words but with a car and road theme. Use real cars or the car template included in this resource, print off your mat and have students practice this in your literacy rotations.
This covers initial sounds and some digraphs (sh, ch, th, ck, ff, ss, zz, ll, gg, tt).
These mats come in both colour and black and white background.
For optimal fun, print the mats off in A3 to make the words big enough to see while using a real car.
