Sunday Spotlight

Welcome back to Sunday Spotlight! This is where I share a resource that I have designed and used in my classroom. I share links, photos and updates on how the resource works and why I use it. 
This week I am sharing my maths concept PRISM. This is a fabulous way for covering all maths concepts in the classroom or a maths rotation. This particular concept covers 5 key ways/ideas to maths that students can reinforce through activities. These are:
P = practice by myself
R = ready with a buddy
I = i can use technology
S = solve in book
M = manipulative exploration

Each of these have activities and explanations that align with it to ensure students get coverage of all the aspects in maths. Sometimes it can be hard to think of activities for students to do. But this concept aims at providing you with everything you need to make that happen!

PRISM was implemented in my classroom at the beginning of 2019 and students worked through learning all the key concepts slowly like you would any other concept or idea. In this resource, there are additional anchor charts which can be used while unpacking each of the concepts so students and teachers know both of the expectations for each aspect within PRISM. 

This resource has also recently been updated to include my own version of some games that can be used for practice by myself or ready with a buddy. Simply print these off, laminate them and add them to a container with other games you might like to use. There are additional resources in the pack that can be used, along with examples of how it might look for your classroom. It also includes everything else you need to run a successful rotation programme!
