Reflection in class

Last week I shared and talked about the traffic light reflection model. Check out the post here. This was a poster I used to help highlight reflection prompts and thinking structures to help my students with reflecting on their learning in class. I have used this reflection model in my classroom on and off this year, but wanted to commit myself to using it more going forward to the end of the year. 

How it works is I use my feedback and exit slip bundle cards for students to choose when reflecting on their work. We talk about the learning we were trying to achieve, talk through the traffic light prompts and students select the appropriate level they feel for the activity. 

In this session we also then peer shared with each other why we chose the colour and tried to talk about evidence in our work that could back it up. The evidence part is what we will continue to work on talking about as that was hard for my students to do. 

In saying that, it was lots of fun and an engaging way for students to reflect and think about what they were doing in the activity and the purpose.
