Yesterday I ran the second of my online PLD around Seesaw. This time is was focusing on Seesaw activities, explaining how to find them, save them and create them for yourself. This was modelled via the zoom online recording and recorded for those of you that might not have been able to make it. I also shared a whole lot of recording templates and seesaw activity templates than can be used for creating Seesaw activities. Check out the online recording below and the slide deck attached at the bottom for yourself. Over the holidays I will be running some online Zoom PLD to help share the skill and knowledge I have with Seesaw. I know we are all using our own different online platforms for home learning; but Seesaw has great opportunities to be used at home with learners. These session are all free to attend and have a slide deck free that you can use to guide your learning for afterwards. These are also recorded if you can't make the time or session planned.
Just want to watch a recording? Find it below. With school being closed across the world, Seesaw is a great way of engaging with students and parents. Seesaw has updated to include home learning codes - a way to have students use their already created Seesaw classes from home. They can upload evidence and complete work from home and share it with their teacher! You can comment and interact with your students like usual in this huge time of change. Check out this quick video below on how to access and download those home learning codes. This was a quick half an hour session talking through key things parents will need to know:

If you don't already know, Seesaw is my favourite app of all time. The opportunities it has for students in the classroom is amazing - allowing open communication between the classroom and home, helping students to create learning opportunities that open them up to create and reflect in their learning. Incorporating Seesaw into the classroom is easy - with loads of resources available to help make this happen.

Seesaw also has lots of printables (as seen in my top photo) that can be downloaded and printed for free. Access those here. Looking for more Seesaw resources? Type 'Seesaw' into the search box below to have all my Seesaw posts and website blogs come up! Over the past few years I have worked on pdfs and ibooks that aim to transfer idea, knowledge and skill about key software or apps that I have used. I love sharing my work and ideas with others and another way of doing that is through ibooks. These are pdfs that I have created and released on Apple ibooks for educators to read and access from all over the world. Check out five of the ones I have released and created:
Seesaw for beginners is the third course I have released online as part of my Mrs Priestley ICT Online courses. These are all free to complete; teaching skills in a hands on, easy to listen to course that you can complete at any time of the day, anywhere.
The first two are Google Drive for Teachers and Navigating Google Docs. Each of these courses aim to provide an insightful look into how each of the topics work, with videos, quizzes and activities that you can complete along the course. Once enrolled, you have free access to the course at all times, being able to access it anywhere and refresh at any time. There is also a certificate and digital badge you can download once you have completed the course. My most recent resource are these two great ebook packs! Both of these packs follow the colour wheel targeting key high frequency words for that colour of books. This resource has an ebook, word card task card and Seesaw activity links; all to help reinforce the learning of key high frequency words! The first one targets words from magenta and red; with the second targeting words from yellow.
This pack also comes with a task card for each word that students can use alongside the ebook. Students should listen to the word, say the word out loud, write the word in the air with their finger or trace around the word formation on their device screen; plus create the word at the end. There are some activity ideas for how to create the word like playdough, magnets, stamps, sand trays and links to Seesaw activities. These ebooks will available for download free on itunes apple books! Until then, you can access the ebook links free here. Or download the whole resource which includes the ebook, word task cards and Seesaw activity links!
Today I presented my second session at Ulearn 2019 around 'Using Seesaw within literacy and maths'. This session was a hands on session providing teachers with tips, resources and tutorials to use with getting Seesaw integrated into your classroom.
Today I did a 25 minute taster presentation on using Seesaw portfolios for assessment. This was a quick introduction on using skills, activities and fluency checks alongside or integrated into your assessment.
Do you need some PLD around Seesaw? Let me help you!
Today I am sharing the newly created Seesaw 'I can' statement poster progressions. These are great for students to help them work through different aspects of using Seesaw. Each of these is broken into three levels - beginner, proficient and advanced; to link into my already created student and teacher Seesaw progressions.
Last week I so incredibly fortunate to attend and present at the Digital Fluency Hui in Hawera, Taranaki. I delivered the keynote and four workshops around different areas. The aim being to build teacher competency and skill in anything digital; providing as much as I can with others! I really wanted to share my presentations with you so here are the links to the workshops I ran. If you have any questions or want any further information please let me know.
