There is a lot of talk about Zoom being unsafe at the moment, but if you are taking the right security measures then you will be fine. See the attached infographic below on ways you can secure your zoom sessions for you and your students. Simple things like using a password, locking your session and using a waiting room.
See my attached video showing you how to navigate zoom and create a zoom session for you and your students.

Looking for some guidance with Seesaw skills? Last year I ran a session on U-learn that explored how to use Seesaw skills and add skills to work. These are a great way to tag work with a learning intention or skill that can be then referred back to or tracked against. It can be showed against subjects, skills and more. Seesaw has lots more information Seesaw skills that is also available free to access via their website. I personally don't use skills at the moment as I am not using it in a reporting way, or way of gathering evidence of skill but aim to use it in the future again once my students are more confident in using it. Want access to the slides? Find the link here!
Today I ran the last of my online PLD for Seesaw - focusing on Seesaw folders and blogs. This was a quick introduction into these aspects, showing how to get them set up in your classroom and used by the teacher or students. This was recorded with the recording shared below. There is also access to the slides here at this link.
This second one is a calendar and check in activity that involves my Bitmoji templates! Easy to use and fun for students to check in with you each day to see how they're going. Great for online learning! This has two links - one to the seesaw activity and one for the template. You will need to make a copy and then change my Bitmoji for your own.
Need some help remembering how to make Seesaw activities? Use this easy to follow cheat sheet. It follows the process you would use to create and assign a Seesaw activity in your teacher account. It also includes a link to the Seesaw icon text shortcuts (via the pdf download). This could be used at home for home learning activities or for help in your classroom. Download it via pdf below!
Yesterday I ran the second of my online PLD around Seesaw. This time is was focusing on Seesaw activities, explaining how to find them, save them and create them for yourself. This was modelled via the zoom online recording and recorded for those of you that might not have been able to make it. I also shared a whole lot of recording templates and seesaw activity templates than can be used for creating Seesaw activities. Check out the online recording below and the slide deck attached at the bottom for yourself. |
